Well-established and highly regarded public BDC seeks a credit analyst with 12-24 months of experience to manage a portfolio of syndicated loan positions.
General responsibilities will include fundamental credit analytics and account monitoring, and analysts will support the transaction structuring and due diligence process. The best individuals will be interested in a capital markets path, not hoping to move into private debt.
A more detailed inventory of responsibilities includes periodic portfolio review; due diligence and financial modeling for existing and potential transactions; archiving the firm’s library of documents for regulatory and audit compliance; portfolio level projects and quarterly performance metrics; interface with third party firms providing valuation, audit, and marketing services to the firm; and, most critically, the analyst will be a source of consistent and accurate information, and will be responsive to other members of the firm.
The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree from a top-tier institution with distinctive academic performance (cum laude grades) and at least a year of experience in credit analytics, research (both preferred) or an exceptional accounting background with a solid understanding of financial statements, metrics and modelling. Additionally, superior communication skills, the ability to manage large quantities of abstract data, a commitment to consistently deliver promised results in the face of challenging circumstances, and a desire to learn and grow professionally.
